THE NEXT BIG THING IN THE IT INDUSTRY

                                                              CLOUD COMPUTING

Cloud Computing is online-based computing in which shared resources (such as network printers), software, and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand. Companies essentially pay for one license for each user and receive a host of applications as opposed to paying for them individually and installing them on their machines.

Cloud Computing solutions that will make an impact in our economy need to be tailored to our needs rather than just ‘cut-and-pasted’ from western systems: A local SME for example wants an accounting system that seamlessly integrates with the Kenyan tax system rather one whose currency is quoted in Dollars and Euros!

Cloud Computing makes it more cost effective for small players to operate the best software available by offering it as a service (SaaS). This will see cases of software piracy drastically decrease and  will also greatly encourage our local developers: My company seeks to cultivate and drive local developers to produce home-grown solutions for local businesses and managed services offer the best platform for taking these solution to the market.
